CHILD OF THE MOON
A one-act opera about the life and death of Yu Gwan Sun, Korean independence activist. Music by Nicky Sohn. A reading of a draft of Child of the Moon was held via the American Opera Project in March 2022. Currently in development.
Quake
A new opera commissioned by UCLA reframing the end of Homer’s Odyssey in contemporary Los Angeles with music by Kay Rhie. World premiere was in June 2023.
Emperor’s New Clothes
A one-act opera workshopped at UCLA in 2018 based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale.
A humorous rendering of the original story with its themes of poor political leadership and a fashion obsessed monarch. Music by Nicky Sohn.

Song Cycles, Arias & Lyrics
Tarot Song Cycle
Commissioned by Timothy Stoddard through a creative award from the Heinz Endowment, the lyrics reveal the fortune being laid out and reflect on the nature of prophecy. The song cycle is the title piece of tenor Timothy Stoddard’s new album. Music by Mary Prescott. Also provided lyrics for the aria “Remade” with music by Michael Lanci. Released April 2023.
